American Red Cross - West Central Illinois and Northeast Missouri Chapter

Mission:

The West Central Illinois and Northeast Missouri Chapter of the American Red Cross is an organization of volunteers dedicated to meeting the needs of our neighbors. We provide services in a caring and impartial manner, helping them to prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. We provide services that are consistent with the mission of the National American Red Cross.

History:

The West Central Illinois and Northeast Missouri Chapter of the American Red Cross was established in 1917 to deliver Red Cross services in the community and the surrounding areas, including canteening and handmade items for the WWI effort. Today, the American Red Cross offers programs and services to a very diverse population. Every year, we generate programs for tens of thousands of participants in Adams, Brown, Pike, Hancock, and McDonough counties in Illinois and Clark, Lewis, Marion, Monroe, and Ralls counties in Missouri. The American Red Cross was established, is today, and will always be, in the business of focusing on the needs of the entire communities in which it serves.

Highlights:

Your local American Red Cross offers programs and services in areas that include Health and Safety Services, Disaster Services, Armed Forces Emergency Services, Disaster Education, Blood Services, Youth Services, and Water Safety. In the course of one year, the Red Cross touches one in three families in the local areas we serve.
